Little Jesus

Finally back on the road and engaging in ministry!  It is exciting getting back to doing the thing God has called me to.  I’ve been prayed over, and got to pray over people while traveling all over the country.  This weekend I’m at an expo event to showcase my van.  We hope we win best in show!  We just rebuilt it and it has some pretty cool stuff in it.  Things that normal vans won’t have.  Maybe those amenities will be enough to tip us over the edge this year!  

In order to offset some of the cost for these events, I have been trying to volunteer time to them.  Because of this we go earlier to help set up the area for the event that is about to happen. We did that at this event.  And when you show up early, you get to meet some of the people there and spend some extra time with them.  

When we arrived, we got to meet a lady. She handed me a little Jesus and told us she enjoyed greeting people and handing them a little Jesus doll. She said she takes him everywhere she goes.  I told her that I take him with me everywhere too.

That got me thinking about how we live.  Do we have Jesus in the center and forefront of all we do?  For a time it seemed as if I were just floating around.  I was growing in knowledge and understanding of my God but was I really just basking in his presence? 

I have been trying to lead Grace better in this new year.  We have been reading through the scriptures and praying together. This has caused a renewed focus in my relationship with Grace and with YHWH.  I have been contemplating more on how to apply the truths of what we read to my relationship with Grace.  I have also been concentrating on specifics in prayer. I have been more sharply focused because of this. 

I’ve also been walking through Exodus and have come to the point where YHWH introduces himself to Moses.  This has opened my eyes to the intimacy of God’s name.  He gave it to us to use. He said this is how he should be known forever.  Why don’t I use it? Why do I resort to a title rather than the name he has chosen to reveal himself to me? 

All of these things have come into a closer focus because of little Jesus.  Let me ask you this question.  What has YHWH been revealing to you in these past few weeks? How has he been trying to draw you to himself? Are you listening?

And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12:1-2
